2012 St. Patrick’s Day Parade Details

Annual Greenville Ave St. Patrick's Day Parade

Join the thousands of green maniacs on Greenville tomorrow!

Will you be donning green and braving the streets of Dallas for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade tomorrow?

Greenville Ave. will be the place to be tomorrow from the early hours of Saturday morning, all the way into the wee hours of Sunday. The Dallas Observer has put together a handy (and snarky) guide to surviving the masses, which can be found here.

If you’re looking for something off Greenville (though, remember: everywhere will be crazy this weekend!):

  • JBlacks on Henderson will have Irish music, all-day drink specials, and fish & chips (what else could you ask for?).
  • The Ginger Man in Uptown has 82 beers on draught and 115 bottled selections. Party starts at noon, live music all day, and no cover.
  • Sherlock’s Pub in Addison, Arlington, and Dallas has green beer, live music, and no cover.

For all you serial planners out there, here’s the official flier from the City of Dallas with more detailed information about times, parking, traffic, shuttles, etc.

St. Patrick's Day when we are all Irish

Tomorrow, we’re all Irish, so have fun, be safe, and remember not to drink and drive!

Kirby’s Southlake is Ready For Restaurant Week (and Beyond)!

While KRLD Restaurant Week runs predominantly throughout the proper Dallas geographical realm of the restaurant universe.   Many fine establishments that lie just beyond the city limits take part in the beloved tradition that helps not only diners enjoy great deals throughout the Metroplex on their favorite (or new favorite) restaurants, but also assists the North Texas Food Bank take care of those less fortunate.

While they are new to us here,  Kirby’s Steakhouse in Southlake is by no means new to the Metroplex dining scene or to KRLD Restaurant Week.

In fact, for each of the years since 1999 that this specific Kirby’s has been welcoming folks from all over D/FW, it has offered great deal as a part of Restaurant Week, says Rick Shew.

“We will get very creative,” says Shew when describing what diners have to look forward to from their Restaurant Week offerings. As for his own favorites from their regular menu, Shew gets more specific, even.

“Our Peppered Filet with Cognac Pepper Sauce is the best pepper steak in the world, and I stand behind that,” he says. “Our Sea Bass with Lobster Rosotto is incredible, as well.”

While Restaurant Week is only, um, a week, the great deals at the Southlake Kirby’s Steakhouse last well beyond that. Best Buzz-ers get to take part in a special that would seem too good to be true, except that it is true.

For a short time, you can Buzz in and receive a $20 gift card for your next visit to Kirby’s Southlake with the purchase of two entrees!

The Best Buzz App is FREE, and the $20 gift card is one of the many great benefits of simply downloading and using the App on your iPhone or Android.
